Now that most of the foliage has been disposed of, and the water has been appropriately and mostly channeled out of the garage and down the pipe that doesn't quite go anywhere useful, this is the result during a downpour:

True! And like all good documented features, it has a few problems. The water (in that volume) then leaks through the crack in the wall behind it, so the garage gets some extra watering on the inside. Apart from the other places it leaks.
dude. fix the leaks and get ye a rain tank!
