I'm still awake!!!!!!!!
Should be well asleep already but I think I'm still on post-exam adrenalin high. Spent 3 hours concentrating on the damn thing and you would think that the 4 beers afterwards would fix that but no. Alas. And I've already used up my turns on loathing. Oh well.

Baby photos
Well, to answer worldpeace_and_aspeedboat's question on what kind of car, it is a 2005 Toyota Corolla Ascent sports hatch. The colour is called 'ink' and it has a metallic finish, or 'sparkles'
for the less vehicularly oriented:
And yes, one of the criteria for the car was grunt under the hood. Not a stupid amount, but enough to be useful. And not cost too much at the petrol pump. There were a few other criteria on a rather meandering journey to find the most appropriate car for my needs.

I've got a shiny car!
It will be shiny when I wash it. I paid that nice previous owner last night and paid the RTA today. It's mine I tell you! All mine! And it's the car's first birthday too. I might have a beer to celebrate tonight.
On the way out of the RTA I was accosted by biggest morning tea people. I do like donating spare change to random charities, especially when they are bearing cake. They also had conveniently wrapped bars for taking away. Silly me asks for a museli bar... they aint museli. Oh no. They are muffin bars. Awesome! Who ever knew that muffins now come in convenient, individually wrapped bar form!?!

The cheque arrived today....
...and so it is done. The car is finally gone. I wanted to post a photo of the old excel, but I seem to have a 3 year hole in my collection. Not sure where my photos have gone to. Shame really. I'm sure there's a piccy in there of me being the proud owner of my shiny car. I think I will always be amused by the fact that I bought my first car from an ol' silver-haired fox named Tex.
p.s. I have to remember to not study 2 subjects at once while working full time. For some time. Possibly ever again.

Last night....
There was a memorial service held in the driveway where he passed away. It was nice. Low key. Friends and relatives from around the globe were there, along with most of the residents from our block of flats and some from the neighbouring block. Flowers were laid. Two short speeches given. One minutes silence held. Light conversation with a commemorative drink. Richard will be missed and remembered.

Sometimes life has a funny way....
Of putting everything in to perspective.
Coming back home today... walking up the concrete driveway of the row of flats I live in, I noticed there were 2 bunches of flowers in front of one of the garage doors. Strange I think to myself. When I get to the rear staircase, there's a handwritten note on the door that another resident was reading. Took a while to sink in what was going on.
Turned out that the young, vibrant gentleman who would have been only 30 at the most, who was running his gardening business out of the garage which now had flowers in front of it, had died in a tragic accident on the weekend.
Puts my problems in to perspective that's for sure.
